TEMBA "Dip" Music Video
Notes from Our First Listen
More and more people are being called “artists.” But how many of them can truly move people—enough to give them a genuine sense of hope and despair? This piece is a slightly surreal story, like a waking dream. TEMBA’s mask is still not widely recognized, and I wanted to burn that image into people’s minds. I want them to see the mask, or a scene from this world, and immediately think of TEMBA. The value of making something doesn’t exist only in the finished work. For the creator, there is value in the process of adding color to a completely blank page—starting from zero. There is value in talking with other artists, digging deeper into one another, and discovering something through that process. Even the objects and spaces we take for granted in the real world have a process behind them. I wanted people to become conscious of that, and perhaps even find a certain beauty in it. Rather than showing people where their destination should be, I wanted to create an opportunity for them to think about how they might get there in their own way. We are serious about expression. “Y’all know my steelo” While bringing out what makes TEMBA and OZworld the remarkable artists they are. Going Through the Process
Creative work is being produced and consumed faster, and in greater quantities, than ever before. Social media allows work to spread instantly, NFTs brought artistic expression and market value closer together, and AI has dramatically lowered the barrier to making things. Music, film, and graphic design are now consumed every day almost like instant snacks. That is exactly why creating a powerful final output alone is no longer enough. It is not only about what we make, but why we make it—and how we get there. In an age when creating has become easier than ever, the reason behind the work, and the process itself, become all the more valuable.

A Music Video That Does Everything We Want to Express
TEMBA expresses himself through many different forms—music, dance, cooking, fashion, painting, and beyond. It is almost as if multiple personas coexist within him, each finding its own form of expression. Rather than choosing a single path, TEMBA gives shape to everything he wants to express, whether through music, painting, or something entirely different. With this video, we wanted to create a path for the next generation of artists that does not lead in only one direction, but allows them to move freely through all forms of expression. “A music video that does everything we want to express.” Visually, we aimed for something colorful and playful, while weaving in a slightly cynical edge. Each idea was connected to its own evocative theme color, creating a world that feels vibrant and pop, yet still rich and considered. We approached the overall texture almost like a designer toy—something that suggests endless possibilities for different colors, designs, and variations.
