Live Your Style

A portrait of the real lives of Tokyo-based creatives in 2021. No matter the era, staying true to yourself can open a path forward. We set out to archive the lives of artists and creators working in Tokyo during the third year of the Reiwa era—people connected to BUDDHA, and others who have chosen to live and create in their own distinct way. By capturing fragments of their everyday realities, we shaped those moments into a film. When we asked ourselves what we could do in this particular moment, we hoped to create something that might give someone the courage or hope to start moving toward their own dream. At a time made especially difficult by the pandemic, we wanted the film to reach younger generations, as well as those living far from major cities or overseas who may have felt isolated. Even when one or two things do not go the way you hoped, the future can still be bright. We hope the film encourages viewers to think about what it means to live in a way that feels true to who they are.
